Happy New Year With A Surprise Lottery!

The New Year's eve of 2008 is closing in and fast.

We have clearly seen that You, our Developer, have really put effort on helping WidSets as a service to boost up and the results are clearly visible.

The amount of our Developer site registrations is increasing rapidly, as is the count of widgets in our developer server database. Your active participation in form of questions and answers on the discussion forums has also been noted with pleasure.

I want to give a big Thank You to each one of you! We have just started this year, and already we are many.

Now...Let's make the year 2008

The Year Of The WidSets Widgets!

What I can tell you already is that we have many great offerings coming up for our Developers and many new features for the Developer's community. Also, as the WidSets service is getting bigger every day, we are expecting there will be a huge demand for user created content in the year 2008.

I can assure that next year there will be an increasing demand for coders and content creators for the WidSets service.

Always remember, that Your effort, contribution and commitment on being a WidSets Developer will definetly and for sure pay back and benefit you in many ways. There will be more information about ways to use your skills for the best of WidSets and yourself, whether you are beginner or an experienced and skilled programmer.

Prize: THE LUCKY WINNER OF OUR LOTTERY GETS A BRAND NEW

Today's average price for a N810 in shops in Finland is around 450¿

Special rules:

#1. The winner will be drawn from amongst all the widgets that have been created between the 2nd Developer Contest start day until 31st December, midnight 00:00 local time in Finland (UTC +2).

#2. With the term "created" is meant, that the drawn widget must be a working and compiling one, that you have either published OR it is your private widget, not visible to others. As long as it works, it is valid!

#3. The lucky lottery winner will be announced on 2nd of January, 2008.

These rules can also be interpreted so, that you are eglible to increase your possibility to win by creating widgets.

What this also means, is that you need to have created at least one running widget during the given timeline, to be able to participate.

The more you have widgets under your account, the more likely you are to win!

You may use the example code and widgets that we have been provided with the SDK and in Wiki.

Hi there,

I knew this was coming...*sigh* ;) You are correct and I agree it sounds like fun! The rules were actually left open that way - intentionally...

This is merely a lottery for fun factor, nothing to be taken too seriously - I hope =)

Basically, it is up to you - everyone who has made even just one widget, is automatically participating - no need to do anything. But ofcourse, the fact is that there will be a RANDOM selection of ONE widget. The creator, meaning under what username that widget is at the moment of selection, wins the prize phone - thats it !

Random selection will be done 100% by a computer, so no person here locally will be affecting on the process.
