HOW TO GET A WIDGET LIFTED TO PRODUCTION SITE

Follow these steps to initiate the widget lift process (from dev.widsets.com library to the www.widsets.com library).

1. Upload your widget into our developer library

Remember to also check our Widget Writing Guidelines:

2. Fill out and attach the following agreement text (copy & paste)

I hereby confirm that the created widget in complient with WidSets TOS (http://dev.widsets.com/info/terms.html)

URL to widget in dev.widsets.com library:_______________________________________
The usename in www.widsets.com I want widget to be lifted to:_____________________

In case of widget requiring authetication please provide sufficient prove that you are authorised to ask for User authetication (either are contracted to provide the widget to the service requiring authetication or employed by the service and entitled to create the widget).

3. Send the filled details by email to : lift@widsets.com

Note - this has to be send by email not by WidSets internal messages, nor dev.widsets.com/Forum entries.

We will start the lift process for our part as soon as we have received the information.

This process takes normally a couple of work days, if all goes well. Note that we only can process requests on basis of 5 days a week and between during normal office hours, local server time (9 AM to 5 PM).

Developer WidSets site holds the rights to make changes to this process at any time. Note that we may delete an existing widget or deny publishing or lifting a widget, which violaties our Terms Of Service whitout prior notification.

Hi there, Manitoba!

The latest version of your widget is always the one which is found in the library at the moment.

In practise, this means that you should post us another mail to get your new version of the widget lifted to the production site.

You need to notify users about the new version, if you want them to start using it. Unfortunately we can not push your new widget version automatically to users.

I would recommend that you send new version only if you have done some major changes or the widget does not work properly for some reason. Basically, a widget is always a piece of software and you should plan it's development and lifecycle well beforehand.

Remember, that if your widget becomes very popular, requiring to remove & reinstall a widget very often might not be very convenient... ;)

hmm, isn't that exactly handled automagically by the widsets engine? At least on the dev side it just pops there if it's changed and so...
