--------------------------------------------------------------

We are going to launch an ad-based Developer Business Model in future for 3rd party widget developers.

To pilot the model, we have already enabled it first with two very popular WidSets game widgets. They also won in our competitions and you can read more of them here: http://blog.widsets.com/widsets/2008/02/good-vibes-with.html

Go on, try them and have a look 8-)

We will be giving out more detailed information later on how the revenue based model will be taken in wider use.

Furthermore, to enforce the oncoming Business Model implementation we are doing this:

* Recognition of development work *
Available for all developers. Gives a possibility for anyone to earn a Nokia phone as a reward for making a popular widget. We have a considerable amount of new phone devices to be given out.

* Coding Contest *
Available for all developers. Show your skills by participating on the contest.

Categories are:

1. Games
In search for games that are easy but addictive, simplified in
functionality and casual. Ones that anyone could easily play
and which use only one or two buttons as controllers.

2. Information
Enable the use of localized content. Utilizes single or more than
one services to provide locally interesting and valuable
information for the user.

3. Mashup
To create new combination of information from more than one
web source, in example pictures from Flickr resembling local
weather conditions.

4. Utility
There is need for basic everyday utilities i.e. currency
converters, calculators, to-do, shopping lists and so on.

5. Open
In addition, this category enables you to implement anything
that does not seamlessly fit to any of the previous categories.

Prizes

The best two widgets of each category will be receiving
brand new N95 8GB Nokia multimedia computers.

Judgement

The WidSets Developer Community will be responsible of judging the competition widgets. What we will be looking at are the following three aspects:
ยจ
+ Ease-Of-Use
+ Addictiveness
+ Innovativeness

The grand public will be given responsibility of judging in the form of popularity. We will be following the number of active users for published widgets during the time period. This activity will be taken in consideration when making the final decisions. For counting the activity we will utilize our internal reporting system.

Timeline

WidSets Developer Rewards 2008 period will start on
10th April and will end on 15th June, 2008.

Remember to utilize all of the possibilities you can find on our developer site; Wiki, API documentation and discussion forums.
